They Don’t Care About Us Poem by Venkatesh Raghava

They Don’t Care About Us

Gopal and his friend were beggars
Who were begging by the side of a road
They were starving for many days
And were discussing to fill their stomach by some means.

They heard a political bigwig was going on an indefinite fast
For government to settle his demands fast
The police had to shift him to hospital
And forcefully his stomach had to fill.

Gopal’s friend came up with an idea,
Told him to change the name of that road forward a plea
And both of them to go on an indefinite fast
So government will force them to dropp the fast,
by giving them something to eat!
