They're Gone Poem by Robert Deininger

They're Gone

In your times of struggles you find out who your friends are,
and in your darkest hours you find out which of them truly care.
But often, in your darkest hours, you find they're all gone.
Then it hits you... you're all alone in the darkness.
Even your shadow is gone.
