This Child Poem by Jonathan Bellmann

This Child

May your Christmas Day be merry
And be filled with eternal joy
No longer must we tarry
To know our Savior near
Than to hear from sacred story
And hymns that long foretold
That from the root of Jesse
Our salvation, God would bestow
For us this Child was born to be
For you and me, a sinless lamb
To be sacrificed upon a tree
To ransom us from sin and death
To give to us His eternal breath,
Be not afraid from death Christ rose
Victorious over satan, as promised He
Ascended into Heaven giving to us
His Holy Spirit as a guarantee
To strengthen us, to sustain and maintain our
Faith in Him until with bended knee, we see
Him face to face, yet for now we wait
As we partake of His body and blood, we flee
To His refuge for Christ is with us,
The Word made flesh, come and see
Our Lord, this Child.
