This Gathering Darkness Poem by Charles Karia

This Gathering Darkness

Tis in times of distress that Lot's wives,
Reverse to gaze for what was left behind.
Its in times of trouble that forgotten prophets,
Bring blood solutions from the days long gone;
Ancient secret libations for our old deities.
Look, discern the rituals they now plan,
So that the high places can be astir again.
Announceits time to pray against covenants.
Cry to the heavens for the hordes are loose;
Ready to accept us back again in their fold.
In trouble they'll offer solutions and bread,
Full of abomination to taint what we believe.
If you are weak there you'll be called strong;
Crying in hope that poisons only affected
Elements in you that are mortal yet-
Stains go all the way to things eternal.
