This Hour Alone

Carpe Diem Poem: This Hour Alone
Why haunt tomorrow with trembling fear,
When now is breathing, near, and clear?
The future hides behind a veil,
Its promises may rise—or fail.
This moment glows with certain light,
A fragile spark against the night;
The hand I hold, the step I take,
Exists—while tomorrow may forsake.
Do not trade joy for "someday's" claim,
Nor bind your heart in worry's chain;
The only life that can be lived
Is this—today, not yet, not been.
So seize the hour, unafraid,
Speak, act, embrace what is displayed;
For certainty is found in now,
And life begins the moment we allow.
