This Human Race Poem by Mark Hopwood

This Human Race

You say you know the way it's going to be
With a smile on your face and light in your eyes
But you don't fool me, no not for one minute
You can't fool me because I'm the one in it
And it's not what you say, no way
I see the future and the price to pay.

we're sinking slowly, down a little more each day
The cold wind is coming, I feel it on its way
To blow through our mind and leave our soul stripped bare
With a planet full of isolation no one wants to share
Because it'll be gone
Like rivers dried by the sun
Yes, it'll all be gone
This human race is almost run.
