This Misery Poem by Alfred Ramos

This Misery

This misery is haunting me
Taunting me
This misery lies in bed with my loneliness
So now I must confess
It’s going to be tough
I may not be strong enough
This misery is depressing me
Possessing me
This misery is living in a closet of my mind
Where sanity is left so far behind
It’s going to be hard to survive
I feel more dead than alive
This misery is killing me
Chilling me
To the core of my soul
With no virtues to extol
This misery has taken more than it given
How much deeper can the stake be driven
I don’t have this magic wand
But if I had a way to respond
I would reach down deep
Pull out this misery and squeeze it to sleep
