A year has passed
It seems so short but so long
The days have sped by
With little purpose

I wish college did not last so long
I want to do something more
I want to stop the war
I want to build a world
With hope
With peace

The world seems so lost
People die of starvation
Dehydration
Girls are raped
Children cling to a sliver of hope
A silent desire for peace
Lays within their hearts

When will we take the time
To look beyond ourselves
And change the world
In which we live
Change the lives of others
Change the life of the planet
