This Spider Poem by Elayne Ogbeta

This Spider

Where on earth did this spider come from?
How did it suddenly appear on my wall?
How did it sneak its way in my bedroom?
Which way in did this black spider crawl?

Did it fall like a parachute from the sky?
Or did this spider drop out of space?
Did it fly in with the evening breeze?
This hairy spider with his scary face

Where on earth did this spider come from?
Look at it crawling on the floor!
Why does have to be in my bedroom?
I don't want to see it anymore!

Did it escape like an animal from the wild?
Or washed in slowly from the sea?
Is it an agent sent out to spy?
Or why is this spider looking at me?

Where on earth did this spider come from?
I'll guess I'll really never know.
But this bedroom has only room for one
I'm afraid, dear spider you have to go.
