If you have ever felt
That the cares and troubles
Of the whole wide world
Have knocked on your door,
And have draped themselves
To leave you feeling
Like a ten ton millstone
Is hanging 'round neck -
Slowing and weight you down,
Holding you back -
A heavy burden to carry
From which you can see
No escape!
Remember that -
This too shall pass.
Our worst fears -
Are rarely realised.
What seems important today
May not be so tomorrow -
Why worry ourselves so!
The broken car -
Can be repaired.
The broken bone -
Though painful -
Will heal in time.
Rows with our friends -
Bridges can be built.
The spilt milk -
Can be replenished.
Remember that -
This too shall pass.
We are here today -
But may not be tomorrow.
Our lives are short -
Why should we -
Waste our lives
With stress and worry?
Remember that -
This too shall pass.

Great poem! I love it! This too shall pass, was a favorite saying of my Dad's! When things are difficult and I'm having trouble coping, I remind myself this too shall pass. Thank you for putting this saying so succinctly into a poem of reason and sanity! It's very well written and makes total sense! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
