Those Little Birds In My Country - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

one is red
up the tree
one is blue
down the drain
one is white
at the center
of the house
the others eight
in all
on each window
one sun
with eight rays
no stars
this time
not one
stripe
the Filipino people
has learned
to hate.
