Thought Poem by Stefan Belan

Thought

Rating: 2.5

The world is decaying
It ages too fast.
Aging from stress,
Influenced by past,
Present and future, each playing key roles, acts.

But we fasten its condition,
And what shall remain is dust.
Earth is becoming Mars,
Barren, desolated, no doubt to discuss.

Humanity itself crumbles,
Forgetting ancestral past,
Nature and us, equality and trust.
Now we abuse... think only of us.
Wealth, fame, lust
They alter ourselves and fuel cycles of hate, dishonor and distrust.
This can't last...

Blinded by arrogance,
We are heading to our current rightful places
As relics; due to the chaos within us.
We complain about situations,
But we are responsible for the transformations.
Our sense of self is disturbed,
Our common sense ignored to points of no return.

Knowing ourselves,
Each ones good and bad
Reforming, reshaping, the current form of the future ahead,
It's a thing of no regret.
We can heal and protect,
Yet we choose to destroy, to disrespect.
United at core,
Each with an individual soul,
With the potential to create from scratch
To light up the match,
To spark a light,
In our mind,
To illuminate the path we could step on.

Or just take them in consideration,
For the future generation,
Preventing further degradation.
