Thoughts Of Hope Poem by Fabian Gerard Stanley

Thoughts Of Hope

I've been leaning back and forth
For all that it was worth,
But it felt like I was going under;
Those voices in my head,
They shake me from my bed,
Sometimes it's rolling thunder.

But let me tell you what,
This much I've not forgot,
It's been good but it's getting colder;
I'm trying to be kind,
Got so much on my mind,
Maybe I'm just getting older.

But come daylight and I'll rise again,
See the dawn and start over;
Hoping for the silver lining, or at least a four-leaf clover;

But this will all suddenly turn around,
Suddenly I'll feel the sunlight as it hits the ground,
And like magic we'll be lifted up,
Holding on to that overflowing Cup.

It's all a dream, sometimes there's rain,
Sometimes life, and sometimes pain;
But don't despair, it is no farce,
We shall see Hope, for this too shall pass.
