Thoughts On Writing. - Poem by Tom Adams
I have no time for poetry.
To sit and think? To write down?
Anything that comes to me,
or mess with rhymes and sounds?
To do so would be quite laborious
for me at any rate, when
my result would be less than glorious
and there'd be wast'd time, again.
Poets must therefore be quite mad.
Or, at least have lots of spare time
so of course they will have the chance
to piss about with sound and rhyme
But I live in the real world
where such poetry can't exist
and of course, I'm more worried about
when and where I'll next get pissed.
