Three Wishes

I went for a walk
Beneath a lonely night sky
I was missing my love
When a glimpse caught my eye
A shooting star fell
From the heavens, dark above
So I closed my eyes and made a wish
For my long-lost love

I saw a fountain pool
While strolling through a mall
Reached into my pocket
The fountain seemed to call
I tossed a shiny penny
Closed my eyes and made a wish
To once again, very soon,
Feel her gentle kiss

Then it was my birthday,
And Mother baked a cake.
Before I blew out candles,
I had a wish to make.
Wherever you are, my love,
Wherever that may be,
Know how much I love you.
Please come back to me.
