THE HIGH THROBBING OF THE MASS UNIVERSE strikes as a glorious praise for the WHOLE SHEBANG, as an American astronomer put it. That's the Big Picture of pure matter and incandescent energy. It's a WOW experience. But when you descend to the planetary level, the human and animal world, things get debased and lose their wonder.
