Through All 2 Poem by Cliff Phiri

Through All 2

The place of liberty and glory
Seemed a myth.
So the sound of freedom was all we needed.

Silver and gold we had,
Silver and gold we lost.
Seasons!
Lessons!

We once tried singing
And they told us_
Our voices were not good enough;
Nothing good from Nazareth!

For ages we were taught_
Salvation from Pilgrim.
Then we wasted decades and decades
Standing on the sea shore...
In hopes to see his ship
Above the waters, to our rescue!
But he was nowhere to be found.
A hoax!

Ok.

The pressures of life came in,
Put us on a corner
Made us live _illegal_
But we are not proud.
We need mercy.

Several men came
Promised us promotion
And we ran wild in joy...
Believing the non-existing;
A fake manifesto! !

Almando the Barbarian then came in.....
Made us eat our seeds
As he ate his own harvest!
Came time to plant
He was nowhere to be found.

If judgement was for us...
Surely some men would be in fire right now.
