Through His Eyes - Poem by carter marie

She would tell me it was over
That she hated the memories that were left
That all this led to was regret
She would say so much
Just to see me respond with daggers and knives
To inject her with poisonous words
But all i gave her was loving and kind words
But she only believed they were lies
But baby, I knew you were tired
Tired of hating yourself
Tired of using that blade just to feel again
Tired of hurting yourself
You wanted me to do the honors
But i could see it all along
You said what you did to spark a fire between us
But i would never burn you my love
I could see
I could see this was you way
It was but another way to hurt yourself
And i couldn't let you perish in your own pain
You're done with the sharp blades
And know you want sharpened words
And killer rhymes to pierce through your heart
