Thunderclap Poem by James Riviera

Thunderclap

It’s like a thunderclap, out beyond the breeze
We’re the kind of people who always see what no one sees
And a raindrop, really, it’s falling faster, faster, more
It comes in like a tidal wave, and sweeps you out the door
And moonlight, always moonlight, rowing the tides gently away
Faster, faster, faster, until there’s nothing left to say
And misery, sweet misery, always killing what it heals
Breaks the ties and tells the lies and takes out what it feels
But, green grass, and blue skies, always make amends
There’s something strange about falling, until it ends
