Thunderflowers Poem by Eduard Alexandru Popescu

Thunderflowers

There is a place in your eyes
Where thunderflowers lay
And there is a pause between your sighs
In which the impaling truth sways
Step by step, with the rythm it keeps,
Flows between the carved scars on your lips

In your hair dwells the smell of spring
Like the soothness of two lovers' kiss
There are notes in your hair which sing
A symphony of what you have and what you miss
Your hair was the sanctuary of my face
Remember how I lost myself in that sacred place

Remember how the Time stopped, watched and smiled
When you raised your head to mine
That time all the poets would've cried
If they would've seen my heart, its shine
Your kiss was a blazing storm of fire
And in my veins you still flow, a fiery desire

Where lovers used to sit and rest
The bench of time-eaten wood
Is now the grave of what I am best
A tombstone wrapped in roses, gray and bruised
When you're tired of your hate and halt your lies
Remember me, remember us
Remember those thunderflowers in your eyes.
