Thunderstruck - Poem by Frank Parness

SHE COMES AT YOU LIKE A STORM
I KNOW HER BETTER
AN ANGEL IS HER FORM

WORDS OF WISDOM OUTDUELING HER YEARS
A TRUTH SO HARD
BROUGHT TO TEARS

AN OFFERING FOR A KISS SO SWEET
CHILLS SO DEEP
LIKE THE FALLING SLEET

MY CHILDREN’S LOVE
GOD HELP ME
IF I LEAVE WILL THEY SEE DECEIT

DO THEY SEE THE LOVE
I NEED AND CRAVE
PLEASE PLEASE SEE THAT I AM BRAVE

THE WINDING TURNING
ROAD OF LIFE
SHE MAKES ME
THUNDERSTRUCK LIKE A SOFTENED KNIFE

I PRAY FOR MY LITTLE ONE’S
OFTEN IN THOUGHT
A CHILD IS FIRST SO I WAS TAUGHT

SHE MAKES ME THUNDERSTRUCK
ON HER IM STUCK

WE HAVE A BOND NO ONE CAN BREAK
I’LL HOLD IT TIGHT
IF BURNED AT THE STAKE

WE GAINED IN A FLASH
WHAT TAKES YEARS TO BUILD
WITH LOVE AND HOPE MY HEART SHE HAS FILLED

I MUST END MY THOUGHTS
WITH SOUL OPEN WIDE
SHE COMES AT YOU LIKE
A TIDAL WAVE
SHE GIVES ME ALL I CRAVE
