Tibet....Sobbing! Poem by Chhavi Anupam

Tibet....Sobbing!

As far as your
eyes can go
true......I do lure
amid snow,

As quietly I lie
in soothing serenlty
on the Himalayas
in bewitching beauty,

Placid
and calm
my life lucid
like healing balm,

Chantings of lama
amidst ding-dong
an ethereal panorama
with monastries' song,

My life suffused
in innocence,
profused
in abstinence,

I know my beauty
takes your breath away
my spirit, my vivacity
inimitable, you say.

And this provoked
them to take me over
my innocence evoked
the 'animal' in them,

But, in this Trinity
who cares
for my dignity
for my prayers,

For the twinkle
in my eyes
for my soft smiles
for sunshine in sighs,

Afterall what am I
before the Dragon's sinuosity,
Its too mighty and high
for my simplicity, my naivety,

Alas!
China's own massive
land mass
and prosperity

Has ignited
his berserk desires
to possess
beautous saphires,

Like me...Tibet,
because you yodel
pious in etiquette
she's an angel,

But, what is the point
in being
so spiritual
so ethical,

If destiny
of
such beings
is... to be taken over,

In full public gaze,
Alas! this is the
wrong time
even to cry,

As nations
are getting
dressed up
for the grand

party....oops!
Olympics
that China
is hosting,

And nobody remembers
that in a remote corner
of this planet, there is
Tibet....sobbing!
