I'm walking down the street
wondering, thinking, feeling
people walling past, hurrying to get to work
obsessed with their jobs
once again, wondering, thinking, feeling
'STOP' i scream, everything does
the water from the fountains sparkle as they never hit the ground
i see a man in a suit glancing at his watch
i blink and I'm in his home on the day he proposed
the love in his eyes as he got down on one knee
the tears in his wife's eyes as she yells yes
i shake my head, back on the street
his mind scattered, worried about work, not his family
at home, his daughter always asking 'where's daddy'
i walk past him
a women in a red dress with her friends
going to the next party
i turn and i see her baby in a crib crying
running out of tears
once again i shake my head and walk past
then i find what I'm looking for
the man who works himself to death
but still makes time for his wife and kids
a hard worker, a loving husband, a great father
that man, is me
