Time For S(He) Poem by Simeon Jacob

Time For S(He)

Once my mother found out
I was doomed.
My mother grabbed me by my pig tails
As I played with my Barbie’s.
She dragged me down the hall and
out into the backyard.
You can’t be my little girl anymore, You must grow up and become my man.
She ripped the pig tails from my scalp, tied my feet to
A monster truck tire.
She feed me steak and left in the backyard until
I grew up as a man.
I wear suits and carry around the Wall Street Journal
I watch the Cubs.
I write His story.
And did all things that makes man
But
Sometimes I’m a boy..
