The river moves, unyielding, toward the sea,
Its waters carrying what we cannot hold;
Moments dissolve like whispers in a tree,
And yesterday turns fragile, pale, and cold.
I trace the shadows of a vanished smile,
The echo of a hand once pressed in mine;
Each memory stretches over every mile,
A bridge that trembles, fragile and divine.
Change drifts softly, neither cruel nor kind,
It shapes the heart as wind shapes autumn leaves;
We lose, we find, and leave the past behind,
Yet every ending still a hope conceives.
Time flows, and with it, all we are and were,
A fleeting song, remembered and deferred.
