Carpe Diem Poem: Time Will Not Wait
Time moves on with iron feet,
Unbribed by tears or human plea;
It cuts the cord of yesterday
And drags tomorrow endlessly.
No crown can slow its measured stride,
No prayer can make its seconds stay;
The moment trembles in our hands
Then slips, already on its way.
So taste the hour before it turns,
Before the now becomes a then;
Hold joy as one who knows the thief
Will come—and come again.
Since time will take what we delay,
Let living outrun loss and fear;
Seize breath, seize love, seize burning light—
For time is ruthless, therefore dear.
