Tiptoes And Tails Poem by Suzie Ret

Tiptoes And Tails

Tiptoeing in the night, barely above a whisper mice dancing in the shadows, their movements crisper. Others cower at the sight, while I stare at ease unmoved by the mouse, unshaken by his tease.
Policeman Cat waits at his post, hoping to catch his biggest foe Sharpening his claws, shaking his tail Thinking Mr. Mouse is unaware
People scream 'Mr. Mouse is here! ' While I stare in awe, grinning ear to ear Policeman strikes, blood everywhere Mr. Mouse has disappeared.
Nowhere to be seen, everyone's thinking the worst. Until the cat hisses, 'Ow, my tail! ' Mr. Mouse has done it again. I spot the mouse with his cheese, He's walking away in victory
He's like a tiny thief in the night With no trace of fear Outwitting the cat, year after year
