To Be A Good Girl Poem by Rouren Torres

To Be A Good Girl

You must be polite.
You must be plain.
You must never whine,
never complain.

Keep your head held high,
but swallow your pride
and down cast your eyes.

Never speak a lie;
only tell truths they might like.

Always bright, yet never smart.
Don't act cheeky,
just play your part.

Smile and wave;
bow and fake.
Be a doll for all their sakes.

Bit of charm here,
Bit of humor there.
Bit of sprinkled innocence everywhere.

They are right;
you are wrong.
Never doubt, tis the law.

Whatever they say,
you agree.
Keep under your dress
your beliefs.

Grin and bear,
grin and bare.

Keep in mind;
they don't care,
as long as you're not in their hair.
Just as long as you don't swear.
