To Be Alive Poem by Zhijian Jiang

To Be Alive

In a cage, like an impregnable fortress,
There live crazy lions and tigers,
Which are scrambling for all false thrones,
And also destroying all the perfect.

And cunning foxes and vixens,
Sly wolves and jackals,
Are also playing their roles, crazily.
They are destroying all that in the cage,
Together with the lions and tigers.

The lambs die silently, unable to fight back.
Green grass gradually become drought,
The bones are scattering among them.

If someone look for it,
He will find that, in the cage wall,
There is a small, small aperture,
And a little grass is trying to break through the cage,
Doggedly alive. In its point, there is a dewdrop
Glittering and translucent...
