Sometimes I like to be alone
and think about whatever comes to mind.
Even in a crowded room of human noise
I’ll quickly leave on the tail of a fleeting thought.
A thought that will take me far away
to a place no one else can know.
A word, a phrase, a melody -
no one knows, not even me,
what it’ll take to get me there.
Sometimes I find freedom in my aloneness.
To be alone, with no one but myself,
an escape I find quite pleasurable at times,
but then, I know, I must come back.
Come back to this world
and let the people know I’m there.
Letting them know with my words
of worlds I visit in my oneness,
of little fantasies I’d like to see come true,
and that sometimes, it’s not so bad
to be alone.
