To Be Rich Poem by Timothy Branch

To Be Rich

I had too much
To find much in little
Richness I found in simplicity
Peace and quiet, rich
Soft music, rich
Time with my wife, rich
Time with my kids, rich
Paper and pen time, rich
Striving for wealth costs too much
Poor health, broken families and marriages and such
The cost of the high wage for things once valued above all
Now disgusted, downtrodden and utterly broke.
Once proud, loud, living the good life to be rich
Lost it all gained much more and new perspective
Contentment and rest came to replace all that occupied the busyness of the wealth chase
Where my true wealth could be my firm base.
I yet live to be rich and strive and define my own rich.
I can tell you what it means to be rich.
The world does not dictate to me when I'm rich.
I'm at peace with my portion.
My wealth does not cost a fortune.
I just have to pay attention to the aforementioned things that are worthy of my attention
Whew, I'm glad my portfolio did not take any more wasted years to see wealth in simplicity
Rich in my terms, the sky is the limit on my returns.
My market net worth, growth and income are all stable.
