'Conscience doth make cowards of us all.' - Shakespeare.
'Ambition doth make giants (!) of us all.' - This unknown poet.
Living in a skyscraper
One dreams for the sky.
Living in a basement
One dreams for the skyscraper.
Living in a shed
One dreams for the basement.
Living fifty miles away
One dreams for the city.
(Sort of shed. Isn't it?)
Thus the story extends
Fifty miles to hundreds.
Lofty ambition -
Attempts to hold on to the sky.
Only the altitude varies
Till it reaches infinity.
From the milkman
To His Excellency,
From the queen
To the commoner,
The saga of humanity
Appears so queer!
A commonplace journey
Ends in a dream
Unfulfilled!
