To Keep It Safe

It might be true, I still love you
But all you did was take and take
Too late, you realized your mistake
I gave and gave, and dug my grave

But now I am free,
Because you could not keep the truth from me
AND Despite the pain,
This realization came:

I received your iniquitous behavior
But i admit, I was your enabler
My steadfast love was wasted,
My dreams were insignificant.
Your guile was your goal

Don't worry this became a lesson learned,
No reason TO FINALLY be concerned
We cannot be,
Even if you claimed to have loved me.

So it is done
No tenderness, no happy days to come.
The stars you promised never shined,
And now my weary eyes take rest.

You should not wish to hear what i would do,
rather than go back and be with you.
For now I need to keep what I have left
To keep it safe, inside my grave.
