To Live Out Our Dreams Poem by Katie Anon

We all have ambition, dreams we hold close

Often not telling a soul, even ones we love most

For me, my deepest wants lay close to home

Just to feel ok as myself and not so alone

Alas I'm in a trap that catches a lot

I don't believe it possible and so it is not

Some people believe their dreams can come true

Living to achieve these, their confidence grew

I am filled with distrust and fear

These voices keep the self-doubt so near

I'm basked in sunlight with the world at my feet

But feelings of inadequacy keep me on my seat

I have not an answer but a promise to you

All the shackles keeping me here I will break through
