I used to think love was overrated,
Too good to be true, only in movies.
It makes people's hearts ache
When held too dearly.
I saw love as the enemy's worst weapon,
On the battlefield, foggy and smoky, unseen by our bare eyes.
Without hesitation, it only
Breaks and shatters us into pieces.
Love—it gifts us with new feelings;
Some highs, some lows, the range is wide, never narrow.
It creates holes in our deepest heart's floor,
And from those cracks, a seed faithfully grows.
The first time my chest missed its beats,
The sign of love was there, I denied vehemently.
Heart to head, my heart confessed,
It liked this new beat, much better.
I think, part of living is loving.
To love somebody is to see oneself
In a different body.
And when I first loved, I learned
Why love is truly extraordinary.
For life, we chase.
For love, we wait.
And for love, we'd go to the end of the world.
