To Love Or To Serve Poem by Dorreen Pagayon

Am I destined to serve God?
Or am I destined to love and cherish you?
Did I make such a fool of myself because of disobeying my Almighty father just to love you?
Or Did I do the right thing?

You said to me you love me.
I believed in your words.
Yet you didn’t, you never showed me what is was meant of you, my beloved friend, loving me.

You said you care for me.
I also believed in those words, more of your spoken actions.
But at the time when I really needed someone by my side. Someone who will comfort me, care for me, understand me.
By then, in a blink of an eye you vanished.
Leaving me, feeling amiss of you.

“Actions are better than Words.” They say.
And you proved it right.

God the father is always there for me when I need him.
I may not see him, yet his presence can be felt everywhere for you to know that he is there.

But you, when was the time that you were there for me.
Please recall and tell me.
I may not remember for a few times that you did.

Care, Compassion and Fortitude.
I will have this in me for as long as the love I feel for you will stay.
Am I a really a fool just because of loving you?
Or it’s just a fault that I made?
Is it wrong to love when I have someone who I should repay for giving me this life?

If what I’m feeling now is just infatuation or attraction then is it really wrong?
Or did I really do the right thing, which is
“LOVING YOU, LOVING A PERSON LIKE YOU”
