There was definitely a charm to you.
But what was it really that made me love you as i do
I know that once you were one of them all
And now to me you are definitely more
Was it your origins, the base of all things love in me?
The country of the beloved, the center of all things dear.
But the feels started way before, it couldn't be.

Was it the wit,the unquestionable intelligence.
A beautiful smile and bright eyes.
Wisdom beneath the surface, quick thinking
Accustomed as i was, intelligence just beyond my reach
An aspiration for me, keeping me looking up to you
Is it something else that made me love you as i do?

Was it the disciplined habits, good work ethics,
Loyal to the job, innovative, working well with people
Helpful, friendly yet not really friends to any
Was there a resemblance perhaps,
to someone i could no longer see
To a love i could no longer foster.

Something in you did stir up the inevitable in me.
I was built to love, that i know.
But really,
What was it that made me love you as i do?
