To My Teacher Poem by Dr.Sandhya Tiwari

To My Teacher

Deep blue
Star studded sky
Calm and quiet was the night
turbulence filled the heart questioning the blessed ones might

Something there is that really impresses men and women alike
Is it his never give up attitude which he demonstrates?
Or like the Lincolns’,
his strong conviction - “You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves”.

Nothing could touch
The weariness,
the miseries, the problems,
and the fret
All these are driven like demons from the Lord
As the precept
for him was “take charge by controlling things instead of letting them control you”.

I sink back quivering –
Where had I been
if not influenced by the happy gracious souls like this
The resonating voice grew and delved deeper
deeper and deeper probing
Am I the only one
who expressed this solemn thoughts in words and deeds
Are there others who minds are germinated with the same seeds?

My heart rises up under the high heaven
Blessed I’m by almighty
to be one among the chosen lot,
to be born with the sense to discern the right and the wrong.

O dear almighty you are JUST your way

'Beyond doubt there is a purpose in everything that happens
From generations to generations the truth that is unfold'
With deep rooted conviction my teacher told.
