To Nature Poem by John Myers

To Nature

O my heart
Where the coarse gold rains hesitate
And the Sun dips below the mountains break
Ere the valley drenched in darkness succumbs to late
There you are in quiet estate

O my soul
Where the sky meets endless space
And eagles soar 'cross placid wake
Ere the setting sun ebbs to nights embrace
There you land each step in place

O my body
Where winters chill mocks Autumns fate
And snow drifts white hold each bone to ache
Ere the lavender glow stumbles to black weight
There you slow your lead and lessen your haste

O my spirit
Where elegant greens line trails man would trace
And the birds song is such that all should partake
Ere the heavenly tears could penetrate earths forrested lace
There you are and there you remain, at one with God's pace
