To The Child From The Street Where I Used To Play Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

To The Child From The Street Where I Used To Play

I played my banjo for you
So you said you'd never forget
As time went on, off you flew
A memory gone. We'd never met?

The strings of life, they hum
The mind is such a fickle thing
I went on, and still I strum
You're still gone, and still I sing
