To The Leaves And Your Smile - Poem by Christopher R. Kennedy
You know that sound you hear
When the lake is as black as ink
And flawless like glass
When a leaf floats down like
An injured paper airplane
Sent from some skeletal tree
It hits the water and the ripples
Form rings around it?
That’s the sound I hear
When you smile.
