An evocative and timeless poem, one with generational transitional resonance and hopefully from the shoulders of giants an infinite timeline tapering equally past and future from an ephemeral present.
I wonder if you are writing about a specific man, or just an imagined character. The tone reminds me a little of Browning's 'The lost Leader'.
