To The Puppy Poem by Emma Brooks

To The Puppy

Cuddles,
I saw you stand up
You were the black and white runt,
cute and chubby your tail wagged like a spring.

As you wobbled toward me for a cuddle
I longed to keep you…
Cuddles,
I have to say you were warm and soft against my chest
It must have been a hour I sat and felt your heartbeat
As I put you down and left I was happy and cuddled.
