To You Whom I Admire Poem by Latha Prem Sakhya

To You Whom I Admire

Your sacrifice
To redeem a people
Fill me with pride-
To be part of the same humanity.
Yet it shames me – a passive witness
To your torture of body and soul
For a cause so noble.

Spanned by geographical bounds
I cling on to your invisible hand
To partake in your struggle –
An empathizing, smouldering volcanoe,
Expressing my solidarity,
So that your sisters and brothers
Soon taste the air of freedom.
And live without fear.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The power of the Cross. Calvary complete, it is finished. Now our redeemer makes intercession for us. His Kingdom is forever. A wonderful, inspired poem. God Bless; D
