Tokyo Jazz Poem by Alexander Foald

Tokyo Jazz

I have a night to remember
Such a long night to spend for
Another dream about the girl
Behind that looking-good curl

Took a glass for one shot
Listen to jazz in the back of mind
Feeling glued to whatsoever she said
Things never seemed right anyways

Soon I fall on my own feet
Last catch was so good to pretend
Could it be an accident? Could it be intentional?
Nobody would dare to predict who we are

Yet you still crawl back to bed
Don’t touch my thing, leave it that way!
I wonder if they want you to tell
What happens if you leave me with the devil

My city of lights, full of dreams and people
From south to north, from heaven to hell under
I can sing throughout the movie that being played
But you’ll never hear my scream before it counts out

My city of lights, shine over my place!
My beautiful lies lie everywhere she goes!
And I’m thinking of breaking this prison through
Waiting to see what you’d leave behind the door

My city of lights, before the dawn goes berserk
All men can see through your clothes as if you’re naked
Thoughts of life and death, be my guest to guess!
Of course, all the food cost your own compensation!

Let’s go, let’s go! Greet the father with love and pleasure!
May the queen fill the glass with lust and caution!
