Tomorrows Will Be The Same Poem by Jacson Gelato

Tomorrows Will Be The Same

Rating: 5.0

Those plains, those mountains
those rivulets, those bridges
in the bright sunshine they looked so same;
those clouds, those dark nights
with those little street lights shining everywhere
the cities looked so same,
only the native knew his bus-stop;
no one could ever forget the tomorrow
as everything would be the same;
the elderly and the old kept walking home
with their groceries every morning,
the high-school children kept rushing home
in groups sharing excitement every afternoon;
as men kept drinking beer and stout
sitting outdoors by the street pubs
after a hard day's work,
women kept driving around
with their babies, shopping
or taking their dogs for a walk;
the hustle and bustle could never change
it had its own static speed and ritual;
no one could forget the tomorrow
as everything would be the same;
but something changed, so suddenly
there came a new petrol station
with a coffee shop and a store,
everyone kept stopping there to buy
everything and anything at anytime;
girls kept driving in, boys kept honking
the meeting point was so exclusive
along with the gasoline, came love
as eyes kept meeting, sparking desire;
no one could forget the tomorrow
as everything would still be the same
the fun, the frolic, the friendships
only the generations would differ.
