Too Complicated

Burning flaming fire fire fire
Walking on that high highwire
Frightening intense desire
Much too scared to enquire
How much further how much higher
Lips licked bright eyes to admire
Bodies starting to perspire
Dreams meeting to conspire
You start preaching to the choir
It's too complicated there's no buyer

Nothin' ventured nothin' gained
Why don't we play our favorite game
It always turns out just the same
Cupid misses with his aim
Darts land outside the picture frame
No hearts broken there ain't no shame
Please don't bother to explain
Just sing me that familiar old refrain
As we ride upon that crazy train
It's too complicated yet again

Watching waiting for a sign
Dancing as our paths entwine
Life comes nixing the design
Giving up, fit to resign
Timelines never quite align
Tearing down the dotted line
This part's yours & that is mine
Its just so much whine whine whine
All some kind of mad moonshine
It's too complicated & that's just fine

Emotionally constipated
Words are often understated
Love is always overrated
Burning thirst that's never sated
As the story's not updated
Perhaps some lives are somehow fated
Coz tempations traps' are ready baited
Hints at pleasures long awaited
Now's the time I hesitated
Don't expect to be X-rated
Coz love its just too complicated

Tension's high, you're aggravated
Getting less than anticipated
After all you've calculated
Guess your method's just outdated
All goodwill has dissipated
Gone from friend to one who's hated
Desire has been incinerated
Even tho you're still fixated
You lost your queen & got checkmated
Coz man it's far too complicated
