Too Long Have I Dreamed Poem by Meng Lim Dr

Too Long Have I Dreamed

Too long have I dreamed

brown is now what once was a bright green field

oh time how heartless and mindless

my youth it did ravenously did steal-

I have dreamed too long

the deepest winter is written on my greying brow

my voice is muted and broken

past joyful songs I've forgotten to sing now-

age is a weary story-teller

its theme is endless sorrow

old tears are too familiar

each has cast a lingering shadow

only the grace of love will I follow

ere the night slips into oblivious slumber

and takes away the day's splendid glow--

farewell, all is well---there's nothing more to remember
