I took a chance
To hear her say
I was worth it

Her sudden pause
Gave me cause
To think I blew it

Too soon I knew
Her personal view
Of me was jaded

When all at once
I saw her smile
She had taken awhile

And then I knew
My chances grew
I was worth it
