To take the Money and run–
Like the rich folks say
Before they twitch their
Thin line mouths down...
Darling – Money is so
Vulgar, except when you
Have none. Turn your
Face, it shines, the green
Gold, it does.

Tempered with bristled ends
That can stag you at a run-
The Green Back buys
A row of broccoli or
Strawberries turned
Just so – in front of a husband
Asleep on the sofa before
The news even closes.
